Job Description Job Title: Buyer Location: San Jose, CA Pay: $85k-$105k   About the job: This role supports our aerospace and defense procurement operations by processing RFPs, managing supplier quotes, and sourcing components for AS9100 and commercial opportunities.   We’re looking for someone who: • Has 3–5+ years of sourcing/procurement experience, ideally in aerospace or defense • Experience with consumables such as adhesives, loctites, grease, staking and coating materials preferred • Experience in electronics manufacturing services preferred • Demonstrates strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing • Can manage multiple projects and meet deadlines • Works independently, with minimal supervision • Understands ERP systems • Is familiar with AS9100 quality systems and AS9102 reporting   What you’ll do: • Analyze customer RFPs, BOMs and drawings for AS9100 and commercial opportunities • Identify and engage sources for electronic components, PCBs, adhesives, consumables, and outsourced services • Communicate AS9100 requirements—such as RFQs, POs, C of C’s, and Lot Code documentation to suppliers • Collaborate with engineers on PCB panelization and EQ/TQ resolution • Evaluate supplier RFQ responses and recommend costs, MOQs, MPQs, and lead times • Participate in NPI meetings to address material related issues • Prepare cost and sourcing plans for ERP entry and procurement transition • Execute purchasing of components, PCBs, electro-mechanical parts, using MRP demand reports or source plans • Generate “Clear to Build” reports for manufacturing planning • Monitor and report supplier commitment date or cost changes to program teams • Assist in developing custom mechanical and cable suppliers for AS9100 projects
