About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Legal Officer to join the Mayor's Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of legal duties, including providing sound legal advice on various matters, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and managing the legal team. This role involves a high level of independent judgment and decision-making, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The Chief Legal Officer will also be involved in contract management, ethics analysis, privacy and records oversight, FOIL requests, and litigation activities. Applicants for the Chief Legal Officer position must have a Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school, be admitted to the New York State Bar, and have at least 7 years' of legal experience, with a minimum of 3 years' in a supervisory role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making, and experience in negotiation. A commitment to public service and a strong interest in the field of gender-based violence are also essential. The role requires an individual with excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a diverse team.
