GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
To set-up, operate, or program an Anderson CNC Router for production of piece parts for shelters to achieve quality and integrity of products at the lowest possible cost.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
\n - Receives instructions both verbally and from detailed prints and routings.
\n - Will be required to set-up and operate CNC machining centers.
\n - Performs operations that will include milling, drilling, reaming, broaching, chamfering, and deburring.
\n - Assists with and/or constructs fixtures, jigs, tools, soft vise jaws, shop aids.
\n - Will produce piece parts & parts for prototypes as well as parts for machine and building maintenance as needed.
\n - Assists with and/or performs repairs to parts on jigs, fixtures, dies and shop aids.
\n - Assists with repairs to machines and equipment in machine shop as requested or required by maintenance.
\n - All levels may perform other functions such as moving parts/material, loading/unloading, sweeping, cleaning, and various other assignments as needed.
\n - Uses various measuring and inspection tools and equipment for piece part inspection, compliance, accuracy verification.
\n - Maintains a clean and safe work area.
\n - Must supply own machine shop/metal working hand tool and measuring tools.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent
Tasks are varied but follow clearly established procedures or readily understood instructions.
Analysis requires use of information from several sources. Some search into unfamiliar areas is frequently necessary.
Duties, objectives, and results are generally specified and in accordance with well-defined policies/procedures or precedence.
Works under general supervision. Follows established procedures. Work is reviewed for completeness & accuracy.
May participate in giving advice, guidance, direction, and training to junior staff as required.
\n - Minimum 3 years on-the-job experience setting up and operating Vertical Milling CNC's
\n - Basic knowledge of shop math.
\n - Fraction and Decimal conversion
\n - Ability to read and understand measuring and inspection equipment, tools.
\n - Intermediate blueprint reading is desirable.
\n - Basic computer skills.
\n - CNC Mill Setup and Operations Certification from NIMS is desirable.

WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Shop Floor environment
Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools)
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to tolerate constant noise (i.e.: machine motors)
Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions.
Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
