Prospect Research & Data Entry Specialist (Contract Position ~1 month)
Summary:
We are a nonprofit startup working to discover deployable innovative technologies for an increasingly electrified future, is building a sustainable fundraising program to resource its mission. Part of this work is to conduct donor research to identify and engage partners that align with the vision of the organization.
As a new nonprofit, our first task was to build a viable prospect pipeline, and through
multiple sources we currently have an initial batch of candidates that include individuals,
family, private and corporate foundations, as well as public/governmental organizations
and agencies.
This group of approximately 325 records/prospects have been identified through
mission aligned keywords and giving guidelines and need more vetting/scrubbing to
identify 1) further pathways to leadership and networks, 2) inclination to support our
mission, 3) capacity for engagement in and support of our current priorities, 4) more
detailed information about purposes and specific programs of giving (restricted and
unrestricted), and 5) opportunities and timelines for grantees to apply/express interest.
Once this vetting process is completed the records need to be individually added to the
our CRM for strategy and cultivation.
Description:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented temporary assistant to help with this prospect-
research project and to ultimately input data into the our fundraising database.
Responsibilities:
· Investigate each of the ~325 prospects for viability to give to our mission and
current priorities, or discount those that just don’t fit.
· Once viable prospects have been identified, research how our might move
forward to apply for support.
· Provide detailed information about processes/timelines within the prospect’s
record.
· Maintain organized and accurate records in a spreadsheet or database and
transfer to CRM.
Requirements:
· Knowledge of grantmaking processes in nonprofits and instincts for donor
prospecting
· Prospect Research experience
· High attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to create and maintain a detailed spreadsheet and use a database
